I have been getting friend requests on Facebook to connect with fake profiles created in the name of various brands. I’m kinda amazed because brand managers or agencies creating these fake facebook IDs must be treating us like stupid Target Audience that needs to be captured or hunted. If Facebook is all about social connectivity why should I connect with a fake profile that I know is being managed a brand manager or an agency? Why should I connect with a profile that might stop interacting with if the brand manager moves out? Why should I connect with a profile & give access to my life when I dont get anything tangible in return?
If you want to connect with me on Facebook (or on social networks) create a group, create an application, create something that will add value to my life. But please DON’T CREATE A PSEUDO PROFILE FOR A BRAND. I’M NOT INTERESTED IN CONNECTING. PERIOD.
